American Powertrain is proud to introduce the Science Friction™ Atomic Twin™ dual disc clutch system for all Big3 V8 applications with up to 1095ft-lbs of rear wheel torque.
Unlike most race bred twin disc clutches, the Atomic Twin features progressive engagement, clamping the first disc a split second before the second, soaking up shock load that can damage transmissions and curing the “on-off switch” feel of other twins.
Easy to install, these race balanced clutch systems are pre-shimmed and guaranteed parallel with no need for tedious measuring. Stack-up height is similar to single disc clutches, making clutch actuation set-up a breeze.
Science Friction Atomic Twin clutches feature a low-flex formed cover with a stock pedal feel coupled to twin Organix™ or Ceramix™ discs with a cryo-hardened billet floater and coupled to your choice of a billet steel or billet aluminum flywheel. Race grade-8 pressure plate and flywheel bolts are included in every kit. Ford 10-spline x 1-1/16” and GM 26 and 10-spline x 1-1/8” discs are available now with Mopar 18 and 23-spline on the way.
Retail prices start at $1095 for the complete Science Friction Atomic Twin system, hundreds of dollars below other twin disc systems.
