Nashville, TN (September 22, 2021) – One month after Corey Layne Music signed Martin & Company for marketing and PR, Layne is back home recovering from a serious case of COVID-19 that landed him in a local hospital. The native Tennessean singer songwriter released a new music video single, Excuse Me three weeks ago and then immediately had to stop all promotion and marketing efforts as he was battling the symptoms of the SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus.
Layne says, “In this day and time, your best laid plans can go awry. I was so very excited to release Excuse Me and within days I was very sick and wondering if I would live. I was a skeptic of the vaccination, but now I am encouraging everyone to get their vaccine and not go through what I experienced. I was very close to being intubated and only through the grace of God and the good care at TriStar Southern Hills was I able to avoid it.”
Excuse Me is a plaintive song of love and regret, performed in the style reminiscent of George Jones sung by Layne with a backdrop of Nashville iconic scenes. The unhurried easy tempo, steel guitar and Old Nashville sound highlights the resonance of Laynes’ voice. This music video was released for the second time on September 16 after his recovery and is available for download and streaming on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, Deezer, Google Play and YouTube.
