Whites Creek, TN (May 14, 2021) – Martin & Company (M&C), a full service marketing solutions firm specializing in national automotive aftermarket brand building, sadly announces the passing of the firm’s co-founder and CFO, Randal “Randy” L. Martin.
Randy Martin is the spouse of Zan Martin, president and co-founder, and former serving member of the SEMA Board of Directors and a former SBN Chair. The full service agency located in close proximity to Nashville is one of a few in the nation that focuses almost exclusively on the automotive aftermarket. Over the years, they have assisted in the growth of many iconic brands – E3 Spark Plugs, MAHLE Motorsport, American Powertrain, Cherry Bomb and more. After attending a SEMA show in 1993 while Zan was serving as V.P. of Burroughs & Associates, Randy suggested that they start their own agency.
Both had worked previously for a Nashville based ad agency and the decision to strike out on their own was solidified as Randy sketched the company’s logo onto a cocktail napkin on the flight home. Under their joint leadership for 27 years, Martin & Company is now one of the premier agencies to service the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket and ancillary markets – RV, marine and powersports.
Zan Martin, Martin & Company president and CEO says, “I am totally heartbroken. Randy was the creative and financial genius at the agency. He has been my rock, my companion, my best friend and my trusted advisor. Through his direction the company has managed many difficult times of recessions, growth spurts and unforeseen changes; and always we came out stronger and better. I feel comforted by my family and friends, teammates and the many associates that have reached out with your condolences. Thank you.”
For more information about Randy Martin’s incredible professional and artistic life as a songwriter, artist and sculptor please read his obituary here. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to either the National Audubon Society or Martin Methodist College, c/o Starnes Scholarship Fund, 433 W. Madison St., Pulaski, TN 38478.
A celebration of Life is being planned at City Road Chapel Methodist Church on Saturday, May 15 at 10:00 am.

What a wonderful story. Bill and I also share a similar story. Randy was an amazing guy. So happy that you had the kind of love that Bill and I now share.
