Fletcher, NC… July 1, 2015 – Introducing MAHLE’s all new GM LS Domed Drag Racing pistons designed for upper level drag racing, and machined to accommodate popular GM LS cylinder heads. Designed for increased compression to dramatically enhance engine power and torque, these PowerPak Plus pistons are triple-coated starting with application of a phosphate dry film to protect the pin bores from galling. Next, MAHLE’s proprietary anti-friction Grafal® is applied to the 2618 alloy slipper skirt forgings and then finally, to withstand the higher cylinder temperatures and pressures associated with upper level drag racing applications, the top ring grooves are hard anodized to protect against micro-welding. Each assembly includes MAHLE’s new HV385 1.0mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm all steel thin ring design which delivers excellent ring-to-cylinder sealing with less ring tension for great durability and far less frictional loss – a key benefit for racers looking for that unique performance edge over the competition.
MAHLE is the world’s largest piston manufacturer, and is the leading piston liaison between upper level professional racing, OE and the specialty equipment automotive aftermarket. All parts are machined to exacting tolerances on MAHLE manufactured, application specific equipment with unmatched quality and consistency. The U.S. Motorsports division operates in Fletcher, NC.
