Whites Creek, TN – (June 11, 2015) In less than seven months, Fontanel Records has produced and released their first album, Fontanel Family Christmas and has finalized studio sessions with all record label artists for their 2nd album filled with songs of inspiration, due to release this fall. It will include 20 tracks that are all originals by Fontanel employees. In fact, any employee on the Fontanel staff who is pursuing a career in the music industry; be it a singer, songwriter, aspiring manager or other area of interest, can automatically join the label. Because Fontanel is owned by major music industry icons Dale Morris and Marc Oswald, opportunities and connections abound for this aspiring pool of musical talent.
In fact, success has been particularly sweet for a number of the labels artists over the past few months. Ben Kole, a Fontanel Mansion tour guide was asked to audition with Jarrod Neiman as their pianist, and was able to perform onstage at the Carl Black Chevy Woods Amphitheater opening for the Doobie Bothers in May. He got the gig by the way! Jamie Saylor, a Café Fontanella server, and accomplished singer/songwriter landed two cuts on the Burt Reynolds movie Elbow Grease, a romantic comedy filmed in Seneca, SC, and set to release late this summer.
Fontanel Mansion Tour Guide Chris Strutko, a Fontanel Records artist was instrumental in bringing to fruition the Music in the Gardens at the Antiques & Gardens Show of Nashville beginning in 2013. When planning the music lineup for this year’s highly successful event, he eagerly booked Jennifer Leigh Young, (also a Fontanel Mansion Tour Guide) to open for Suzy Boggus. Editors of Your Williamson magazine were so impressed by what they referred to as her funky, bluesy, soulful rock that they wrote a feature on her in their Fourth Anniversary May issue. The writer went on to say “I’m not lying ya’ll…this girl can sing! Imagine standing in these elegant gardens with fountains and hot houses and she is singing a haunting rendition of “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” See entire article here.
Steven Whitson, one of the original Fontanel Mansion Tour Guides has had tremendous radio play success with a recent song he co wrote and created a music video for called Grandma’s Boy. He has amassed a huge following through the course of his career, and in fact played to a sold out crowd for his Fan Club at the recently opened Natchez Hills Winery Tasting Room at Fontanel on May 8.
And if that’s not enough, Fontanel Records CEO and Producer Krista Marie Oswald, also a member of country music act THE FARM, as well as Jazzical Blues act Masters Marie has been featured this month, along with her ’53 Chevy Truck in a segment on Nationally acclaimed POWERNATION TV, which airs on Spike, NBC Sports and CBS Sports.
