Whites Creek, TN… August 25, 2014 – Now that fall is approaching, plan on spending a day or weekend at Fontanel, one of Nashville’s premier destination locations. Start with a morning tour of Fontanel Mansion, a 27,000 square foot log home formerly owned by Country Music Hall of Fame member Barbara Mandrell. The home, situated on the 186-acre property is nestled in the rolling hills of the Whites Creek Valley just 15 minutes from downtown Nashville. Next, go on a self guided tour of the luxurious Inn at Fontanel, recently converted from what was the 2013 Southern Living Idea House, then head across the way for a free tour and tasting at Prichard’s Distillery. The distillery features the only Alembic Copper stills in the south, and are a must see! Lunchtime will be approaching, so treat yourself to lunch at the award winning American/Italian kitchen and wine bar at Cafe Fontanella. Let your food settle by shopping at the Farm House Gift Shop and Goo Goo Retail Outlet, then on to enjoy some outdoor fun by taking a ride on the Music City Zip Lines by Adventureworks, or a hike on The Trails, which are a part of Metro Parks Greenway. If you plan your visit right, you’ll have come out on a date when world-class talent is booked either at the Woods Amphitheater or the Pepsi Studio Gallery.
Before you head out, don’t miss a tour of Barbara’s Tour Bus, parked alongside the Studio Gallery. It was built by Whites Creek neighbors Hemphill Brothers, one of the top-level RV builders in the country in 1993. According to owner Joey Hemphill, “Barbara told me, and not in a ‘know it all’ way, that building her bus would make us better bus builders. And she was right. Since that time, we have built multi million dollar buses for artists such as Rhianna as well as for two United States Presidents.”
If you cannot get it all done in a day, just book the weekend in advance and stay at our luxury boutique hotel, The Inn at Fontanel, which is rated number 1 hotel on Trip Advisor in Nashville.
