Earline Morris Surprised at VIP Preview Party With Presentation and Dedication of “Mama” Earline’s Garden – an All White Variety of Perennials in the Lush Garden Back Dropped by Porter’s Pond (In Memory of Porter Wagoner)
The House, Built on Barbara Mandrell’s Former Estate Opened for Tours June 29 and Will Continue through December When it Becomes a Luxury Boutique Hotel
Nashville, TN – Dale Morris is no stranger to the stage and the spotlight as manager and mentor for some of the greatest names in the music business including Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Jake Owen and many others. His wife Earline has always been his rock of support from behind the scenes. But all that changed on June 26 during the gala VIP preview party unveiling the 2013 Southern Living Idea House at Fontanel.
As co owners of Fontanel, Dale Morris and business partner Marc Oswald spend a lot of time together with their wives as personal friends and in social settings. Marc’s wife Krista Marie envisioned the idea of planting an all white perennial garden, (Earline’s favorite) in her honor at the Idea House. “Earline is an avid gardener and one of the most unpretentious individuals I have ever met, with the warmest of hearts, possessing great strength and class beyond words,” stated Krista Marie. “I knew it would mean something really special to her to have her own little garden spot on the property for everyone to enjoy now and for years to come.”
And so the three of them planned and orchestrated a surprise presentation and dedication service to commemorate “Mama” Earline’s Garden. With great stealth during the gala event, they took the stage and invited Earline to join them. When they presented her with a lush pot of stunning white hydrangeas, she was pleased, and when they explained she was to add them to the garden planted in her honor she was overjoyed. An engraved bronze plaque flanks the corner of the garden and reads: “Mama” Earline’s Garden Dedicated June 26, 2013. 2013 Southern Living Idea House
“I can say with great affection that Earline, my wife of 56 years has truly been the wind beneath my wings all these years.” said Dale Morris. “To see her in the spotlight is so gratifying. Now and forever, there will be a place that honors who she is & what her love of nature is all about when people enjoy this beautiful garden spot at the 2013 Southern Living Idea House.”
“Mama” Earline’s Garden is located in the divine sitting area beside the Idea House’s southernmost detached Bunkie with a stunning view of Porter’s Pond and it’s flowing fountain as a backdrop.
