Kelderman has a reputable name in the chassis cab industry from the use of their products by ambulance manufacturers nationwide on both Ford and Ram chassis cab trucks. Kelderman recently used their expertise in air suspension on a project with Ram trucks on a factory produced Ram 5500. The Ram Long Hauler concept features an air suspension designed by Kelderman for a massive pickup based on the tough 5500 chassis.
This concept vehicle has been extensively featured by Motor Trend magazine and has highlighted the success of the Kelderman product. By removing the leaf springs and replacing them with a Kelderman 4-Link Rear Air Suspension System that rides totally on air, overall ride and towing capabilities dramatically improve whether loaded or unloaded. Releasing the air out of the suspension can allow for 3” of drop in addition to the 2” drop provided by the 4-Link air suspension setup, simplifying cargo loading and trailer hook-up. An optional self-leveling air control system automatically adjusts the air pressure in the suspension to make it return to “ride height” when weight is added to the vehicle.
