Oskaloosa, IA (November 5, 2012) – It’s hard to imagine how fast it came and went, but this year’s Specialty Equipment Manufacturer Association (SEMA) Show has come to a close. But there’s still so much to report from the week-long event held in Las Vegas, Nevada – most notably Kelderman Air Suspension System receiving the prestigious Ford Motor Company Project Excellence Award for their entry in the Ford Project Vehicle program.
Each year, participants in the Ford Project Vehicle program are evaluated on total vehicle execution, judging the vehicle’s appearance, use of aftermarket parts, it’s overall marketability as well as its fit with the brand, and the employment of new products developed specifically for the project vehicle. Considering the vast amount of participants who built and presented Ford vehicles at this year’s SEMA show, the competition was stiff to say the very least.
Despite daunting odds, Kelderman’s F-250 Super Duty XLT Crew Cab pickup wowed the judges – in addition to the thousands who passed through the prominent Ford booth – with its smoked black and iridescent green paint scheme, AccuAir TouchPad air suspension management system and Tim Nicolau Designs’ custom look. Targeted at the coveted lifestyle segment of the automotive industry, this truck was designed to appeal to enthusiasts who strive for excellence in customization as much as performance. The Ford Super Duty F-250 was a joint venture project with Monster Energy, Toyo Tires and DUB Magazine.
Presented by FNA Product Planning Director, Brian Nottmeier, the Project Excellence Award was the icing on the cake for an outstanding SEMA week for Kelderman. Jeff Kelderman said, “All we can say here at Kelderman is WOW! This is one of the most prestigious honors we have ever received, and are thrilled and humbled that the culmination of efforts among the team were so greatly rewarded.”
