Nashville, TN (August 31, 2012) It takes a certain kind of man to run a sub-four-second thousand-foot pass. Scott Palmer has done so time and time again behind the wheel of his Top Fuel dragster, recently winning in Edmonton, and qualifying at Denver and several additional NHRA events at the Western Swing this year alone. Until recently, Scott’s personal record capped at a staggering 3.947-second pass down the 1000-foot track. That is, until recently, when after receiving tuning and parts support from Kalitta Racing, where he went on to snap a 3.93-second pass, lifting at the 600-foot mark.
It wasn’t until this most recent pass – and his fantastic showing at this season’s Western Swing series – that Scott decided to attend this year’s Mac Tools NHRA US Nationals at the Lucas Oil Raceway at Indy. Always affable and seemingly undaunted by the competition before him, Scott comes into this weekend’s event having won at IHRA and an outstanding showing at the national events out west, a formidable feat for a self-described “independent top fuel dragster racer out of Missouri who runs a limited schedule.”
