Oskaloosa, IA (July 3, 2012) – Kelderman Air Suspension Systems custom designed a complete suspension system for “HEAVY METAL,” an old derelict International Truck Stacey pulled from a local junkyard. Originally used by the Navy, the ’69 Loadstar International cab-over has a single rear axle and a super short wheelbase. Stacey named it HEAVY METAL to recognize all the craftsmen out there who work with their hands, or develop a skill and uphold a standard of excellence in what they do. The restoration is well underway with some slick surprises that will showcase its nostalgic heritage.
Jeff Kelderman, VP of the company recently spent a day on set with Stacey as they filmed for an upcoming episode on the truck’s progress. “Kelderman has become the industry standard in lifted air suspension,” stated David. “There was simply no one else I would have considered for this part of the truck’s rebirth.”
“There was some pretty intense R&D that went along with HEAVY METAL,” added Kelderman. “We ended up using our 4-Link Suspension and four air bags to create our signature smooth ride quality & unmatched load-carrying capacity… because knowing Stacey as I do, there’s no telling what he’ll be hauling behind this thing.”
Kelderman Air Suspension Systems, with over 40 years of operation, offers a full line of air suspension systems for light and medium duty trucks, motor coaches and trailers, as well as agricultural equipment. For more information, call 1-800-334-6150 Monday-Friday, 7-4 CST, or visit kelderman.com
