Whites Creek, TN (June 25, 2012) In a dazzling performance that glittered with musical perfection and showmanship, Earth, Wind & Fire performed with the Nashville Symphony at the Woods Amphitheater at Fontanel on Saturday, June 23. In a show of gratitude to the iconic and GRAMMY® Award-Winning band for its decision to team with Nashville’s own GRAMMY® Award-Winning Nashville Symphony, Mayor Karl Dean created a proclamation to honor them both. Whites Creek Councilman Walter Hunt presented both Proclamations to the groups following the concert at the famed Fontanel Mansion.
I can say on behalf of the Mayor “we are not known as Music City without reason,” stated Councilman Hunt.
In only its second year of operation, the Woods Amphitheater at Fontanel has hosted some of the greatest names in the music world, but this pairing may have topped them all. For bringing the explosive energy of both Earth, Wind & Fire and the Nashville Symphony together for a performance at the Woods at Fontanel in Whites Creek, I hereby honor them both with this proclamation of appreciation from the city of Nashville.”
“What a tremendous honor,” stated Alan Valentine, President of the Nashville Symphony, who accepted both proclamations. “It has been a magical experience working with Earth, Wind & Fire, and one this group will never forget. This is our 2nd time to perform on the Fontanel property, and they just keep getting better! Thank you to the Mayor & the city of Nashville for the amazing support you provide our symphony. It is with great pride that we call Nashville home.”
