Truck cap and tonneau manufacturer Raider introduces a new method of building the hardest-working part of any truck cap, the rear door. For years truck cap manufacturers have attached hinges, gas props and other hardware to the door with bolts that pass through the glass. This approach means that attachment plates, nuts, bolts and cover-up “plugs” clutter up the door.
Raider, though, using the engineering resources of State Wide Aluminum, a sister company of industry-leading Truck Accessories Group LLC (TAG), has developed a curved, frameless rear door that is a breakthrough in rear door manufacturing technology. The Phantom’s bonded rear door illustrates all the structural benefits of bonding, with none of the bolts, buttons and other visual intrusions of traditional fasteners creating streamlined glass, accented by a center-mounted tear drop twist locking handle.
Using state-of-the-art adhesives and bonding technology well-proven in automotive and marine applications, the new Phantom rear door eliminates the need for a visible aluminum frame, hinge bolts, and mounting bolts for gas props. The result is a look that rivals the most expensive SUVs for clean, “automotive” good looks. Available options include a headliner, and keyless entry system. The new Raider Phantom is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Visit www.raider.ca for more information.
