American Powertrain, a tier one Elite distributor of TREMEC transmissions, is well known for innovative ProFit transmission installation systems. But they don’t stop there. If you need parts between the back of the block and the front of the diff, American Powertrain has you covered. And as of January 1, 2011, American Powertrain is looking for support from the aftermarket industries’ print, online and television editors who are interested in using American Powertrain components on any current or upcoming projects.
American Powertrain offers transmission systems and powertrain accessories for all Big 3 powered muscle, sports, rod and race cars, however, their main focus for their 2011 editorial partnerships are on their top-shelf line of Science Friction performance clutches and flywheels, their X-Factor aluminum transmission cross members and their HydraMax hydraulic clutch conversions
Science Friction clutches and flywheels represent state-of-the-art design and manufacturing for almost every application. Using advanced materials and the latest engineering methods, Science Friction clutches provide ultimate power holding, true torque ratings and a modern pedal effort. With six different disc designs including the innovative 3G progressive engagement single disc and the power hungry Atomic Twin line look no further than Science Friction for 350-1100ft-lb street, strip and mixed used applications.
American Powertrain recently teamed with Brooks Specialty Products to bring to market the X-Factor cross member line, which is incredibly light and exceedingly strong, with unmatched clearance for oversized exhaust systems. Made from high grade aluminum alloy, X-Factor cross members are manufactured in the USA using a patent pending process and are about half the weight of a stock steel cross member, making them perfect for street or track applications. X-factor cross members have passed rigorous 1000ft-lb torque testing for torsional rigidity.
All stock parts are powder coated in metallic aluminum and come with grade-8 hardware and unique steel fastener plates that eliminate blind bolting. A polished finish is available on a custom order basis.
Applications for classic 4-speeds, TKO 5-speeds, Magnum and T56 6-speed manual gearboxes and Turbo 350 and 400, 700r4, 4L60e, 4L65 and 4L80e automatics will be available for GM A, F and X-body along with Tri-5. All GM models are now in stock. Classic Mustang 5 and 6-speed X-Factors will be available in February.
American Powertrain is also a leader in hydraulic clutch conversions for all Big 3 projects using a traditional 4-speed or a modern 5 or 6-speed. Their complete HydraMax systems feature all the components needed to make the swap, including their patent pending HydraMax adjustable master cylinder mount and model specific hardware to hook to stock or stock re-pop pedals. Their new internal slave is pre-bled for easier installation and all systems come with complete instructions for installation and easy bleeding.
All products are supported by American Powertrain’s Customer First 24-hour tech support to help you with questions anytime you are up against a deadline; days, nights and weekends.
