Cherry Bomb participated in the first-ever SEMA Pinewood Drag Race, sponsored by Fellers and DUB Publishing, on July 25th at the SEMA Installation Banquet and Gala Fundraiser in Irvine, California. The event raised more than $45,000 for ChildHelp and the Victory Junction Gang Camp, which benefit children with disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.
Cherry Bomb’s stock class car, titled the “Cherry Bomb Racer,” was a late entry and out of 137 cars finished in 5th place with an average time of 3.96. The car was built and donated by a ChildHelp camp participant named Cynthia and featured a completely non-modified body painted black and featuring distinct red flames up the side. A Cherry Bomb sticker was added on top to complete the look.
After the event was over, the monies raised, the tracks and the cars are donated to ChildHelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp so the children can continue to enjoy the fun for years to come.
