Finally Available: An Oxygen Sensor Adapter for Marine Water Jacketed Exhaust Manifolds

Howell Engine Developments, longstanding experts in EFI conversions, has recently released a Marine Bronze Adapter Designed to allow oxygen sensor installation in your marine wet exhaust manifold. Boat owners with fuel injected engines or those wanting to install EFI on their older boats, now can purchase a custom made oxygen sensor adapter that will allow them to run in closed loop mode for improved fuel economy and exhaust emissions.

The availability of a working oxygen sensor allows installation of automotive type EFI systems, which provide superior idle, low speed and cruise speed operation and fuel economy. Some existing marine EFI systems can also be converted to closed loop operation with new ECM calibrations.

The Howell Engine Developments Marine Oxygen Sensor Adapter threads into the inner portion of the exhaust manifold, exposing the oxygen sensor to the engine exhaust before the cooling water is discharged into the exhaust stream. The outer portion of the adapter seals with a threaded flange and o-ring to prevent cooling water leakage.
