Nashville, TN – (May 23, 2017) In a pre-Memorial day tribute, Champion Car Wash and Fontanel are proud to welcome the #Stop22 Tour to the FREE Champion Car Wash…Presents Back Porch Concert Series at Fontanel On Thursday, May 25 from 5:30-8:30 PM. #Stop22 is a group of musicians dedicated to bringing awareness of, and an end to the 22 veterans taking their lives every day. The group includes Stephen Cochran, Tyler Jay Satterfield, and Daniel Dean.
Stephen Cochran and Daniel Dean got together after a friend, and a family member, both Veterans, committed suicide within a year of each other. The two Vets have felt the impact of suicide in every aspect of their lives. They also realized that their music could help heal their brothers and sisters, as well as educate the civilian populous. As they started to perform in places around Nashville, they realized how many other talented singer songwriters there were that had also served this great country. So the #Stop22 was born, and can be found playing most months on the 22nd in or around Nashville. The tour started as a tribute to the Global War On Terror Wall Of Remembrance that travels the country displaying the names of the fallen men from the war on terror. It is the only wall touring currently being added to. #STOP22 was asked to come and play with GWOT Wall of Remembrance in Vegas during the Shot Show and demand for it came shortly thereafter. Tyler Jay Satterfield joined up a short time after the launch, and has been a huge addition. Also a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Iraq, Tyler wrote and performed one of the most known songs in the Marine Corps in the mid 2000s (EAS SONG). He too has been plagued by the epidemic of PTSD among the veteran community, and understands the ability for his music to help educate and heal.
About Stephen Cochran:
Stephen is a singer -songwriter who had several Billboard and R&R Top 100 and Top 60 indicator songs as an artist and writer in the early to mid 2000s. (Friday Night Fireside) (Thinkin IM Drinkin) (Walmart Flowers) also served with 22nd MEUSOC and 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion as a Scout Team Leader to both Iraq and Afghanistan. After being injured in Afghanistan, Stephen has refocused to help use his music to heal and educate.
About Tyler Jay Satterfield:
Writer and Performer of arguably the most known song in the Marine Corps in the mid 2000s (EAS Song) since the Marines Hymn, Tyler Jay was born in Appleton Wisconsin on December 21st 1985. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana until just before high school where he moved to Colorado and found his love for the mountains. With a conservative foundation established by his parents, Jay and Anne, Tyler Jay felt he had a higher calling and set off to join the Marines. 4 years, 10 countries, and a few broken hearts later he found the world to have shades of color he had never imagined. From the flooded streets of Louisiana, to the sandy streets of Iraq Tyler Jay served his infantry unit honorably for four years leaving the Marine Corps as a Non-Commissioned Officer.
About Daniel Dean:
Star of hit TV show “Ultimate Survival Alaska”, and currently hiking the Appalachian Trail as part of Warrior Hike, Daniel spent 19 months in Iraq as a Marine infantryman and sniper, giving a man a lot of solitary time to think. What Daniel thought about mostly was home. Nothing tells the story of home in the U.S. better than country music. While on missions, Daniel would write country songs in his head. When he got back to base, he could put down his gun and pick up his guitar. The songs would then come to life. He would let Country Music Take Him Home even though he was 6,000 miles away.
Originally from Dillon, South Carolina, Daniel now calls Nashville, Tennessee home. He says, I miss my band of brothers in the Marine Corps, but I have found a new band of brothers (and sisters) in Nashville in the songwriting community. Daniel knows there was a time in his life that he was meant to carry a gun in war. Now, is the time in his life that he is meant to carry a guitar and share his unique blend of country music with the world.
