Oskaloosa, IA (April 24, 2013) – Kelderman Air Suspension Systems now offers a 2-Stage Rear Suspension System Bus Air Kit for bus and transit systems that provides dramatically improved ride comfort. The 2-Stage system is made of 3/8” steel, provides excellent roll resistance and a comfortable 2”-3” of additional travel. The kit comes complete with all necessary components and a built in dryer. No air tank is needed. It is virtually maintenance free and comes with a three-year parts and labor warranty.
The kits are available for Ford F-350, Ford F-450, Ford F-550, Ford E-350, Ford E-450, and Terrastar chassis systems. They have recently grown in popularity with local churches, nursing homes, universities, hotels, airports, casinos, limos and paratransit bus networks. Ron Biss, a long time advocate for accessible transportation in MN, sits on advisory committees for accessible transportation. He recently completed a test ride on a brand new paratransit bus equipped with this Kelderman Suspension. The frequent ongoing complaint he hears is how rough paratransit buses ride, and as a wheelchair user himself, he was the perfect candidate for the test ride. “Many of the people who ride paratransit suffer with pain from injuries and disease, and a great many are elderly. It is difficult for them to tolerate the jarring and vibration typical of these buses,” stated Biss. “Expecting an uncomfortable, tortuous ride, I was surprised by no jarring and very little vibration. I’m convinced that a Kelderman add on air suspension system would be welcomed by many of those in the community of paratransit riders.”
